Not sure what to say about that...
1) Risk an accident as you have two teammates racing against eachother...
2) make the call.

As much as I dislike Alonso... he did post far faster lap times.
(especially his seemingly traditional quickest second last lap.)

Ferrari has apparently been fined $100,000. So the question is, is a possible Alonso win in the Driver Championship worth $100,000 to Ferrari? Although this penalty could get worse as they have been ordered to explain their actions to the FIA.

Although, in my opinion, as well as showing their contempt for the rules of F1, how can they claim to be anything other than hypocritical in their approach to the same rules after the fuss they made about Lewis Hamilton getting away with passing the safety car.

However, we all know team orders will always go on in F1 as long as the Teams come before the drivers.

Depends on who/what is more important, the overall success of the team or the individual driver. The team is always going to want to put itself first for obvious reasons. Doesn't make it right though. It's rather unfair on the drivers.

Biggest problem is it was boring. give them both a 10 place grid drop for next race and we'll watch them come through.

that fine is a drop in the ocean for them lets be honest, Ferrari.I.A have bailed them out again (i mean we all know that the F.I.A president is hardly impartial is he).....its disgusting, i agree that they should at least get a grid drop

in the end of the day it doesn't matter about drivers or teams, its a blatant rule break and should be punished accordingly

“give them both a 10 place grid drop for next race and we'll watch them come through.”

won't that just hurt Massa more?

You guys are nuts. Massa should be dropped from the team for making a spectacle of something that goes on all the time. If he would have just said he lost grip and Alonso got passed, this would have been over. But he decided to screw his team and cry about it. Massa tried to open a gap, but he couldn't. Alonso was clearly faster. If Red Bull would have done that a few weeks ago instead of letting their drivers take each other out they would be so far ahead in the points that Ferrari would be working on their 2011 car.

so jimmy what ur saying is weve finally caught an example of cheating and we shouldn't punishit, just accept it and forget we heard rob smedley apologise to massa when he let alonso go by?

How is it 'cheating'? Who got cheated? Ferrari was going to be 1 & 2 no matter what, unless they risked a pass and took each other out. This has been a part of racing for years, it is nothing new. Massa was clearly slower and was allowing Vettle to catch up.

Cheating is Schue taking our Villeneuve, or Alonso parking in the pit lane, or Piquet crashing on purpose to bring out a yellow. Letting your teammate pass you to avoid an accident is not cheating - its good tactics. No team orders is a stupid rule, especially considering it is a team sport!

I think this should seal Massa fate - I will be surprised if he is still wearing red next year.

so ur saying it would be fine if button had let hamilton go past him every race, or webber let vettel past him every race?

team orders will kill formula 1 just like how it did in 2002 with barichello and schumacher

if alonso was so much faster he should of been able to overtake this supposedly crap massa without whinging like a petulant child to stefano domenicalli

also for ur info massa is signed for ferrari until the end of next season
